Dr. Hornsby is a native Memphian. He was born and raised in midtown Memphis and attended White Station High. He then attended Colorado College and later earned his degree in molecular biology from The University of Memphis. He worked in cancer research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for several years before veterinary college. Dr. Hornsby attended The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, where he focused on internal medicine, surgery, neurology, and dermatology.
After earning his DVM from UT, Dr. Hornsby practiced in Chapel Hill, NC for 2 years. He and his family then moved back home to Tennessee where he practiced and served as medical director of VCA Animal Care Center. He later practiced emergency critical care medicine and served as the medical director of 3 Nashville Pet Emergency Clinics.
Dr. Hornsby moved back to his hometown Memphis to join Dr. J.D. Williams at Grace Animal Hospital. He and Dr. Williams share a strong commitment to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to the beloved family pets of the Memphis area. Dr. Hornsby is joined in Memphis by his wife Erin, two children Evie and Hayden, and furry family members Althea, Manny, Nora and Buster.
